Am certain that according to Pavlov's terminology, the cold temperature would be termed as an Unconditioned stimulus. According to Pavlov the dogs were demonstrating classical conditioned, and therefore he summed and said; there's neutral stimulus, which by itself will not produce a response and aslo a non-neutral or unconditioned stimulus which will produce an unconditioned response.
