List of freedom indices is produced by several non-governmental organizations that publish and maintain assessments of the state of freedom in the world, according to their own various definition of term, and rank countries as being free, partly free, or using various measures of freedom. Freedom in the world 2016 evaluated the state of freedom in 195 countries and 15 territories. Russia was the country not listed as free according to the freedom in the 2016 world rankings.
