The presence of sarcomeres gives the skeletal muscle the striation characteristic. Sarcomeres are basic units of muscle tissue and manifest themselves as as a series of bands visible along along the muscle cells and they the ones responsible for striated characteristic of skeletal muscle cells. they consist of two important components, myosin which forms thick filament and actin which forms thin filament.
