a) x - 4y = 31
b) -x +3y = - 25
To solve ad up a) & b)

a) x - 4y = 31
b) -x +3y = - 25
---------- ------
0.x - y = 6 then y = -6
Now replace y by - 6 in any of te 2 equations & you'll find x = 7
