If f(x) = 5x - 4, what is f(-2)?

f(-2) essentially means that you want to plug in -2 for all of the x's in the equation:

f(-2) = 5(-2) - 4
f(-2) = -10 - 4
f(-2) = -14
(When x=-2, the answer is -14)
